As a matter of principle we source our card and paper from the UK whenever we can, and will never go further than Europe.
When we design a range we think about production at the same time. Generally, cards are printed on large sheets and then trimmed. With our cards we ensure the sizes and layout achieve the minimum of waste. We deliberately do not produce overly large cards, or cards with curly edges which would increase the amount of waste. We do not use metallic inks or foils.
Because of their very high post-consumer waste content our cards can carry the NAPM (National Association of Paper Merchants) logo! Cards: Our cards are printed on 100% recycled paper, with 80% made up of post-consumer waste. This is the bit that really matters. The balance is made up of mill broke, ie waste from paper mills. The board is as handsome as similar board from virgin pulp. Envelopes: Envelopes are printed on matching paper with the same very high post-consumer waste content. Again quality matches similar virgin paper. Inks: We use vegetable based inks which deliver all the nuances expected from modern inks. If you are interested in these issues, we have more technical information. See also There's recycled and recycled... and Why recycled?. |
